Ladies, You Deserve A Night Out!

We know you ladies are working hard and deserve some time to connect with other ladies before treating yourself to some laughs and great memories with our latest show, “Sex Please, We’re 60!

If you or anyone you know has experienced menopausal hot flashes and sweats you will relate and laugh yourself silly at Area Community Theatre’s spring production of Michael and Susan Parker’s American farce, “Sex Please, We’re Sixty”. This saucy senior scandal opens May 4th with a ‘Ladies Night Out’ wine and cheese reception beginning at 6:15.  ‘Ladies Night Out’ is a fundraising reception that will include exciting surprises, raffles, a souvenir wine glass and a chance to meet the cast prior to the show in ACT’s second floor gathering room at 907 Kilbourn Avenue in Tomah. There will be no extra ticket fee to attend the reception.

At the Rose Cottage Bed and Breakfast, widowed owner Mrs. Stancliffe (played by ACT newcomer, Barbara Mundinger), is expecting three single women guests at her comfortable B & B.  Her neighbor, Bud Davis (ACT veteran Mike Cossette) is even happier.  He considers himself ‘Bud the Stud’ and thinks the B & B is a perfect place to impress the ladies.

Romance novelist, Victoria Ambrose played by Barb Stafslien (an area favorite actor and comedienne) is the first to arrive. Guest Hillary Hudson, a researcher who has agreed to test Venusia – a new pill designed to increase menopausal women’s libidos, arrives next. The part of Hillary is played by director, Sharon Larkin, in her acting debut . Southern belle Charmaine Beauregard (ACT veteran Lori Ripley) arrives last, hoping to renew her acquaintance with Bud.  Henry Mitchell (versatile actor Dale Stafslien), the chemist who invented Venusia and has been in love with Mrs. Stancliffe for many years, drops in to propose (again) and see how things are going with the research. Bud stops in to get reacquainted with a couple of the ladies, and the fast paced action proceeds from there.

Tickets for “Sex Please, We’re Sixty” will be available on-line (tickets.tomahact.com) or at the box office beginning April 24th.  Show dates are May 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, and 14. All evening performances will begin at 7:30 PM while Sunday matinees will start at 2:00 PM. You won’t want to miss this hilarious adult comedy!
