The Area Community Theatre will present Sex Please, We’re Sixty by Michael Parker and Susan Parker as their April adult comedy. Director, Sharon Larkin is eager to hold auditions on Tuesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 7 from 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM both evenings in the theatre’s banquet room at 907 Kilbourn Ave. in Tomah. Parts are available for four women and two men ages 45 – 80.
An American farce, Sex Please, We’re Sixty is set at the Rose Cottage Bed and Breakfast. Owner, Mrs. Stancliffe is happy to host single women in her comfortable B & B. Her neighbor, Bud Davis is even happier. He considers himself “Bud the Stud” and the B & B a perfect place to impress the ladies.
As the show opens three single women guests check in; a romance novelist, a southern belle, and a researcher who has agreed to test Venusia – a new pill designed to increase menopausal women’s libidos. Henry Mitchell, the chemist who invented Venusia has been in love with Mrs. Stancliffe for many years, drops in to propose (again) and see how things are going with the research. Bud stops in to get reacquainted with a couple of the ladies and the fast paced action proceeds from there.
Performance dates for Sex Please, We’re Sixty will be April 20 – 23 and April 27 – 30. All evening performances will begin at 7:30 PM, while Sunday matinees will start at 2:00 PM.
